Hot Breakfast Month
1st February 2022
1st February 2022
Whilst we are edging toward Spring, February is usually a chilly month. With this in mind, February is Hot Breakfast Month!
Swiftly scoffing on Shreddies or grabbing a granola bar might be your go-to breakfast option, but why not put aside a little extra time this month and enjoy something heartier?
You may find it surprising how much better you feel during the day if you allow yourself some extra time in the morning to enjoy a more substantial brekkie. It can help you feel more energised, keep you fuller for longer and give you a lot of essential vitamins and proteins.
Whether you’re a meat eater, pescatarian, flexitarian, vegetarian or vegan, there are plenty of hot breakfast ideas you can try. Here are a few of our favourites:

The Zero Waste Cafe has really come into its own since the store opened in 2019. The vision for the cafe was to combat any food waste from the fresh fruit and vegetables they sell in store, so now around 50% of their menu comes from food that would otherwise have been thrown away.
They are delighted to be able to offer a wide selection of cakes and pastries, as well as offering a full breakfast and lunch menu to have in or take away. Breakfast options include:
Fakin’ It: Chef Jen’s savoury breakfast muffin is an epic taste explosion of ripened cherry tomatoes, vegan sausage and vegan bacon, served warm with a side of ketchup, or naked if preferred. £4.50
Jen’s Maple Stack: The Zero Waste Company’s chef Jen has created a triple stack of fluffy, melt in the mouth American style pancakes, served warm with lashings of berry compote or drizzled with a delicious organic maple syrup. They’re also vegan! £7
Smugface: A hearty bowl of warm, creamy porridge, straight from the store’s refill units and into your belly. Enjoy with your preferred milk and a drizzle of local honey or a dollop of raspberry jam. Then feel smug. £3.80
