First Wedding Fair a success

23rd May 2016

On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April 2016 The Pantiles hosted its very first Wedding Fair.

A great many traders, some familiar, some new, spent the day showing what they could offer to make that special day even better. Almost every service you could imagine; photographers, florists, make-up artists, cake-makers and wedding venues all enthusiastically presented their wares.

Visitors to the fair were able to stroll around The Pantiles, examining and sampling the various goods being showcased by the exhibitors. There were many of the traditional offerings you’d expect to find at such an event, but also a few slightly more unusual, including ‘Fern and Field’ who hire out forests and fields for blessings.

An excellent experience was had by all in attendance, with live music from ‘The Audacity’ enhancing the event. Those visitors who took a moment to stop and listen at the bandstand were seen tapping their feet to this terrific group. As well as playing for people the group members happily chatted with the public, talking about set lists for a wedding, and that perfect ‘first dance’ track.

A slightly more gentle lilt was provided by local harpist Ellen Smith who demonstrated what a beautiful instrument the harp is when played well.

Many of the traders exhibiting were delighted with the volume of bookings and orders being placed during the weekend and commenting on that they will now be busier than ever!

Tara Fuller of The Pantiles Bandstand Event Company organised the Wedding Fair and was delighted by the turnout. When asked she said that there was a lot of really positive feedback from the event, with many businesses enquiring about booking for next year.
