Protect the Beat

Thursday 1st August 2024

Led by the renowned saxophonist Derek Nash of the Jools Holland Big Band and co-led by the exceptional drummer Darby Todd, Protect the Beat promises an unforgettable musical experience. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Morrisey Mullen, the Average White Band, the Brecker Brothers and the Yellowjackets, the band crafts its own distinctive blend of instrumental jazz, funk and fusion.

Featuring a stellar lineup including Neil Angilley on keys (known for his work with Down to the Bone, Vanessa Mae, and Michael Ball), Tim Cansfield on guitar (recognised for his collaborations with the Bee Gees, Annie Lennox and Ray Charles), and Winston Blissett on bass (notable for his contributions to Massive Attack and Jeff Lorber), Protect the Beat delivers an electrifying performance that captivates audiences with its dynamic rhythms and soulful melodies.

There is a £5 per person admission fee for Live at The Pantiles. This is payable online in advance. This fee is applicable for event-only spectators, and for those dining in participating restaurants.
