It’s beginning to look a lot like a Pantiles Christmas

11th November 2016

The Pantiles is renowned for its spring and summer events programme which attracts visitors from far and wide. Year after year, the charming Upper Walks plays host to thousands of patrons who enjoy the entertainment and social space. But in the winter months, the events are sorely missed.

This year sees the launch of a new era of winter festivities on the Upper Pantiles as land owners Targetfollow and the Bandstand Entertainment Company prepare a season of live music, Christmas markets and other festive activities set to the backdrop of a new and improved Christmas lights display.

“We recognised an opportunity to build upon our successful summer events programme by ramping up our Christmas activities. We are currently installing an all new Christmas lights display which will see the installation of over 25,000 lights throughout the Upper Walks and a 20ft Christmas tree next to the bandstand. We will be hosting a Christmas lights switch on event which will feature live music and a visit from the man himself, Father Christmas. We have some great entertainment lined up throughout the festive season and our Christmas markets promise to be bigger and better than ever. The Pantiles is a truly unique venue with some fantastic retailers and restaurants. We wanted to ensure that over the Christmas period, we provided a most suitable setting to reflect the excellent seasonal offerings of our traders.”

The Pantiles Christmas Cracker

Saturday 19th November: Fun for the little ones as the event warms up with a kids open air disco at 17:30. Followed by the lights switch on by Father Christmas at 18:30.

DJ Karl Quinn will continue to spin the decks whilst guests soak up the legendary Pantiles atmosphere and perhaps treat themselves to some of the festive food and drink on offer.

Then, the Pantiles Bandstand plays host to a Christmas Funk Band at 20:00 where guests will be encouraged to dance and sing the night away.

The event is the third and final event which makes up the ‘Big Christmas Get Together’ in partnership with Royal Tunbridge Wells Together and also marks the launch of the Christmas season at The Pantiles. Here is schedule of what else is happening.
