Ladies; planning a trip away this summer? Whether you’re going on a city break or venturing somewhere more exotic, the last thing you want to worry about whilst you’re on holiday is your hair.
In this week’s blog, we have picked four effortless styles that you can recreate quickly, leaving you more time to enjoy your break!
Messy Bun
The messy bun is a simple, laid back up-do, that anyway can pull off.
Create the look:
- Start by pulling your hair into a pony tail, you don’t need to be too precious with this as it adds to the end look.
- Add volume to the ponytail by teasing the hair – gently backcomb in sections, taking care not to damage the hair by avoiding combing too hard.
- Wrap around the hair at the base of your ponytail by forming a bun and secure with Kirby grips.
- Finish with a spritz of light hairspray and you’re complete – simple!
To take your look effortlessly from day to night simply take out the Kirby grips, run some serum through the ends of the ponytail, smoothing down any flyaways and re-secure with grips for a chic, glossy finish.
Crimped Waves
For a simple, laid back style, loose waves are always on trend and so easy to achieve – just prep before bedtime.
Create the look:
- To start – wash your hair, run your favourite serum or frizz fighter through the ends and leave to dry naturally.
- When your hair is nearly dry begin plaiting. Start your plaits at ear level – this makes waves look natural and relaxed.
- Secure the ends with a hair band and then loosely tease out your plaits, this will keep your hair wavy and not looking too crimped!
- Go to sleep and when you wake up, take out the plaits, run your fingers or a wide toothed comb through your hair and viola, relaxed, heat-free waves!
The Low Ponytail
The low pony is the perfect on-the-go style and is best styled on day old hair for a sleek, stylish look that works in both the city and by the beach.
Create the look:
- Start by brushing hair and smooth down any flyaways with a frizz fighting tamer.
- Pull into a ponytail at the nape of your neck, secure with a clear band and then take a piece or hair from the pony and wrap around the band, securing with a Kirby grips.
- Dress the look up by straightening your ponytail by adding some shapes, waves and curves.
Heidi Braid
The overhead braid is a stylish and requires little maintenance throughout the day; it may look tricky but it’s really quite simple to do.
Create the look:
- Start by separating your hair into two separate sections and begin your braid in line with the bottom of your ear.
- Tip: Make sure to keep it behind your ears so it’s easier to pin at the end.
- Once both plaits are braided, secure them with hairbands.
- Place the plaits above your head and secure with Kirby grips. Tuck in the ends of the plaits as you go, spritz any flyaways with hairspray and you’re good to go!
